Should You Advertise or Promote Online In The UK?
Yes, you should defiantly be advertising in the UK. According to today’s eMarketer report, 36.8 million users in the UK are online. Further to this in 2012, the report suggests close to 43 million users or a projected 70% of the population will be online. That’s 14 million UK Households that have a high-speed Internet connection!
Now that’s it’s been established that you should definitely be advertising or promoting in the UK, how do you do it? There are always the affiliate networks and search distribution channels, but you can now get even more relevant.
Last week Phorm was announced which is made up of three British ISP’s. BT, Carphone Warehouse and Virgin Media make up Phorm which now offers targeting that tracks web users and sends them ads related to their specific interests. The three ISP’s account for some 70 per cent of the UK broadband market, which is significant. The service sounds very similar to what NebuAd offers here in the United Stats, but I can’t speak to NebuAd’s reach at this time.
The point is if you are an online marketer you should be working with UK traffic. Anywhere where broadband penetration rates are that high you need to be!
