QuadrantOne Signs More Newspapers
Last week QuadrantOne announced it had added twenty-six newspaper companies as affiliates onto its current network. The twenty-six companies represent the total membership of The Newspaper Consortium. QuadrantOne was launched last month by Gannet Co., Tribune Co., Hearst Corp. and the New York Times Co. The addition of the new companies effectively doubles the size of QuadrantOne’s network to two hundred and fifty newspapers.
Advertisers focused on DR campaigns should steer clear, as QuandrantOne is targeting large branded advertisers with “premium online advertising.” This of course translates into premium rates. It should be noted that of the twenty-six newspapers signed last week, they have a separate consortium with Yahoo. Perhaps down the line QuadrantOne, once it is not able to monetize its entire inventory, will start using the Right Media Exchange through Yahoo.
