New WordPress theme and 2.7 upgrade

So out of the blue today, I decided that I would try and upgrade to WordPress 2.7 even though the last few upgrades were disastrous. Well, I fortunately did my due diligence today and backed-up my blog before attempting to complete the upgrade. Everything was going to plan until the phone rang and I got distracted.

By the time I came back to my computer, I had three different WordPress folders and had already moved some of the wp-content folders and themes into other WordPress folders. Without getting too technical (which it of course was not) I found myself totally lost. With nothing else to do, I winged it which of course was followed by 30 minuets of calling my Mac names it did not deserve.

So after the blog was finally fixed I figured, hey why not update my blog theme. I had been meaning to update my theme for about eight months, but was just too lazy to do it. I had selected the Guru theme, I believe by Gobala Krishnan. Changing themes in WordPress as users of it know, is very simple. I knew that I had to edit a .psd file that came with it, but was confident as I had been a web designer as recent as eight years ago. When it came down to working with layers, I drew a major blank. Fortunately I reached out to a friend, and I now have what I believe to be a decent looking site.
