My “Online” Inauguration Experience
Like so many other people around the world yesterday, I watched the Presidential Inauguration online. I had no problem initially viewing the Inauguration via CNN.com, but about five minuets into it, the sound started fading out and a few seconds later, I had lost my feed. I was watching the Inauguration with about a dozen other co-workers and we all frantically left the conference room where we were watching this on my laptop and headed into a coworkers office who was watching the inauguration.
The sound was an issue in this co-workers room as there were no speakers hocked-up. As my co-worker desperately, and ironically, unpacked her speakers someone had coincidentally hocked up their laptop to the television flat screen we had in the conference room. We all rushed back and sat watching history as Barack Obama spoke not only to the nation, but to the world.
While President Obama was speaking, I figured I would check out some of the other sites to see if I could log back in to get the stream. Below are my findings:

How amazing is it though, that CNN.com’s partnered with Facebook to enable chat! Facebook is onto something big here – watching television through an online site and chatting with friends, how much more interactive does it get? Now all they need to do is refine the technology a bit, so it can manage the load.
I am very proud today to be an American!
