Online Dating Sugar Daddy Websites

ABC News online today has an article, New Dating Web Sites Bring Sugar Daddies, Babies Together at Last which caught my attention. I have increasingly been seeing a lot of “sugar daddy” online dating web sites popping up. I see them when I search for general dating terms in search engines and from time-to-time just surfing the web. Given the economy, I am sure that many users have turned to these sites to help them get by.

The article describes how it works:

How does a sugar baby like Miller get to know her dates?

“The dates usually start off with some coffee or a drink somewhere, and then you get to know each other, to see if you’re feeling the vibe,” she said. “And then go on a second date and start talking about your rent. And they’ll ask you how much money you need and what’s your budget.”

In return, Miller said, “the guys get a hot chick — arm candy that can make them look good and [that they can] have fun with.”

It sounds pretty sketchy to me, but I have no doubt there are a lot of users who would find this appealing. The sites are not without their critics, many calling the services another form of prostitution. Whether this is, or is not, is yet to be determined, what is for certain is this is big business.
